Victorian French Dormeuse Diamond Earrings
A gorgeous pair of earrings from the Victorian period. The earrings are French in origin and made from solid 18ct gold with a soft rosy hue. They are marked with the eagle head hallmark on the base of the fittings, as pictured. They have a floral design with a pretty rose diamond at the centre and hang just below the lobe in the ear. These particular earrings go into the ear from back to front. This can be tricky to start with though they do go through with relative ease and hook into place at the front to make them very secure in the ear. The diamonds are lovely and bright and the facets to the front give them that classic subtle hint of sparkle.
