A stunning and unusual locket from the Victorian period. This gorgeous delight has been made in the shape of a basket of flowers with beautiful 15ct gold making up the body and the lid covered in gemstones to represent the flowers. The gemstones include diamonds, pearls, turquoise, rubies and amethysts with one little garnet replacement. To the base of the basket, a bloodstone has been set. A lovely contrast with its brooding appearance against the vibrant ‘flowers’.
The basket opens on a hinge at the lid and has a frame inside that can be removed to place your own photo inside. There is also space for a little keepsake behind the photo such as a lock of hair or a dried flower. It is complete with a handle leading to a bail. The chain pictured is for display only.
