Victorian Good Luck Horseshoe

£0.00
sold out

A beautiful pendant/brooch from the late Victorian period, c1880s. The pendant is made from 15ct gold, marked on the back, and has a hollow construction. It has been made in the shape of a horseshoe and the words 'Good Luck' have been applied around the curved edge. To the bottom is a little ruby. This piece can be worn as a brooch or a pendant and is a beautiful, fun piece with a rich colour to the gold.

The chain pictured is for display only.

Details:

Materials - 15ct Gold (marked, 9ct gold bail), Ruby

Age - Late Victorian

Size - The horseshoe measures approx 24mm high by 23mm wide.

Condition - Very good. The pendant would have been given a 'bloom' to the gold when it was originally made. The remnants of this can be seen around the letters, noted for accuracy only. The brooch pin has some movement in it, though it works well when worn on knitwear/clothes.

Weight - 4.46g
