Victorian Huge Rock Crystal Bug Brooch

£850.00

An incredible bug brooch from the early Victorian period. These bugs are super cool and this is the largest I have ever seen. The bug is set with rock crystal that is foil backed. This particular example is mainly silver foil backed with hints of vibrant pink. It is made from silver, which has a faint gold gilding. It looks amazing on a jacket, though the pin has a good closure allowing it to also be worn as a pendant; please see the pictures.

The chains pictured are for display only.

Details:

Materials - Silver (tested), Rock Crystal

Age - Victorian

Size - The bug measures approx 48mm by 29mm ‘knee to knee’.

Condition - Very good. One extremely tiny chip to the top edge of the bottom larger stone, noted for accuracy only and only visible through magnification.

Weight - 21.6g
