Victorian 'Key to my Heart' Brooch in Box

£380.00

A pretty brooch from the Victorian period with a popular motif. The brooch is a pretty skeleton key with a chain that swags from end to end. The little chain has a heart and a lock hanging from it, both of which move freely along the chain. The three emblems together represent the romantic notion that the key opens the lock to open up the heart - a ‘key to my heart’. The brooch is beautifully made with a secure pin and can be worn on a jacket as a brooch or in the clasp of a chain as a little extender.

It is made from solid 9ct gold that has a slight rosy hue. The chain pictured is for display only. The brooch will come in the red antique jewellery box pictured. This is not the original, though lovely all the same.
