sold out

A lovely large loupe or magnifying glass from the Victorian period. The loupe has two discs of mother of pearl held together by decorative silver brackets on each end. The magnifier swivels out on a pin to the bottom and exhibits good magnification. The pendant has a good size bail and is ideal on a longer chain. The glass is in good working order and this is a lovely, practical jewellery item.

The chain pictured is for display only.

Details:

Materials - Silver (tested, no marks), Mother of Pearl

Age - Victorian

Size - The loupe measures approx 38mm in diameter, not including the bail.

Condition - Good. One disc of mother of pearl is missing a piece behind the lower bracket and there is a little chip to one side on the same piece. The other disc has a tiny chip in the same area. All noted for accuracy only. The frame of the glass looks to be metal and silver, not entirely silver. Everything else is silver.
