Victorian Mizpah Heart Charm

A lovely heart charm from the late Victorian period, c1890s. The charm is made from 9ct gold, marked on the back, and has a hollow construction. To the front it has the word Mizpah in a classic block script with a forget-me-not flower detail. Mizpah is a Hebrew term meaning ‘may God watch over you’. Mizpah jewellery was traditionally given to a loved one to express that wherever they are, they are always loved. The forget-me-not adds to this sentiment. This is a lovely antique charm in beautiful condition.

The charm will come on a 14kt gold fill chain similar to the one pictured.

Size - The heart measures approx 15mm long excluding the bail by 14mm wide.
