Victorian Opal Clover Earrings
A stunning pair of earrings from the late Victorian period, c1900. The earrings are made from solid 9ct gold and have little tab marks on the bottom of the drop settings. They have three beautiful opals set in a clover design and a fourth opal hanging on a drop at the bottom. The opals are colourful and bright with an overriding tone of blue. The gold has a mild rosy hue, often the case with antique 9ct gold, and the coolness of the opal colour is complimented perfectly by this warm gold.
The earrings are complete with dormeuse fastenings (post with a hinge closure) making them very secure in the ear. Such a wonderful pair of earrings.
