The cutest little pendant from the late Victorian period, likely converted from a stickpin, though it came to me as it is. The pendant is made from solid 9ct gold and has a gorgeous opal ‘acorn’ set into the cap. The acorn has its stem, the end of which is set with a little rose cut diamond. The pendant is so beautifully made and looks perfect on a fine chain.
The chain pictured is for display only. As is often the case with opals, it is difficult to capture the beautiful colours within the natural gemstone.
Details:
Materials - 9ct Gold (tested), Opal, Diamond
Age - Late Victorian
Size - The acorn measures approx 15mm long including the stem, but not the bail. It is around 6.2mm wide.
Condition - Excellent. There is a pattern to the cap of the acorn to the front; this is not present on the back and this is likely where the original stickpin joined.
Weight - 1g
