A gorgeous pendant from the late Victorian period with a diamond shaped hallmark, known as a kitemark. The formation of the kitemark indicates that this was registered on 26th January 1882 (C month at the bottom, L year to the right). The pendant is a wonderful barrel shape and unscrews at the centre to reveal a cavity within. There is also a makers mark of SEC to the other end, likely a London maker, Samuel Elijah Culver.
The barrel has beautiful chased markings all around the outside and is a wonderful decorative pendant. It looks great on a slightly longer chain, though could be worn at any length.
