Victorian Opening Sardonyx & Bloodstone Seal
A beautiful example of this style of seal from the Victorian period, c1870s. The seal is made from 15ct gold and has a bloodstone set to one side and a sardonyx set to the other. The seal is a locket and opens to reveal a frame with the original glass inside. The little circular locket has a good click to the clasp and sits within a gold semi-circular frame. It swivels within the frame to show whichever side you prefer. It is finished with a little knot design to the top.
