Victorian Paste Snake Slide Pendant
A pretty and expressive little snake from the late Victorian period. The snake is French in origin and is marked with the boars head for 800 silver. It has a blue paste gem set into the head, whilst the body is set with old cut clear paste. The piece has been beautifully made and has plenty of expression throughout. The back has spring closures that can be opened to thread a chain through and then laid flat to remain secure. This piece is great as a little pendant on a silver chain.
