Victorian Pique Ball Pendant

£0.00
sold out

A pretty pendant from the Victorian period. The pendant is a ball with a piqué design. Piqué is a method of inlaying gold into another material; in this case and most common in the Victorian period, into tortoiseshell. The gold creates a gorgeous repetitive pattern of flowers with little stars. The ball is hollow and fairly light and has a more modern 9ct gold bail.

The ball will come on a 14kt gold fill chain similar to the one pictured.

Details:

Materials - 9ct Gold (marked and tested), Tortoiseshell

Age - Victorian

Size - The ball measures approx 14.2mm in diameter.

Condition - Good. There are some little bits of gold inlay missing here and there. This does not detract from the piece over all.

Weight - 2.37g ball only.
