Victorian Rock Crystal Fly Locket
A wonderful locket from the Victorian period, late 19th Century. The locket has an 18ct gold frame which holds a wonderful reversed carved rock crystal gemstone. The crystal has a fly carved into the back to show through in the dome of the stone. The fly exhibits incredible detail down the little furry legs and the veins in the wings. Such a wonderful skill. To the back, a gold frame with the original glass slides out to allow you to place your own photo or momento inside. Whatever was placed inside could be seen in some way on both sides.

Age - Victorian
Size - The locket measures approx 21mm long excluding the bail, by 17mm wide.
Condition - Very good. A little surface wear to the rock crystal in one place towards the top of the dome, not noticeable when worn.
Weight - 5.86g
