Victorian Rose & Slice Diamond Ring
An interesting and captivating ring from the early Victorian period. The ring is French in origin with French marks on the outside of the shank for 14kt gold and silver. It has silver pinched collet settings, which have been unusually claw set into the gold shank. I wonder if the diamonds and their silver setting were originally from a Georgian ring and have been re-set in this pretty 14kt gold shank during the Victorian period. It has created a very interesting look.
The diamonds are all original and the settings have been made specifically for each shape. Two are diamond slices, whilst the other three are rose cuts. I love a mixed cut ring as the variation creates some real individuality. The ring is complete with little leaf details to the shoulders and is in lovely antique condition.
