A stunning ring from the late Victorian period. The ring is made from solid silver that has been gilded giving it a soft matte gold appearance. The ring is the most beautiful large cluster ring with a large domed saphiret at the centre and a surround of smaller stones. The ring is complete with a split shank and has decorative leaves applied to the shoulders.
Saphiret is a magical form of paste. It was discovered in the early 19th century in Gablonz, Czechoslovakia and involves adding molten gold to blue glass. The effect is an alluring blue glow that never grows old. This particular ring is a lovely large size and makes a stunning statement on the finger.

Size - The head of the ring measures approx 19mm wide by 23mm long.
