Victorian Scarab Heart Ring

£0.00
sold out

A wonderful ring from the end of the Victorian period. The ring is made from 9ct gold with a soft rosy colour, and has a scarab beetle set in a triangular claw setting. The setting is decorative as well as functional and the little claws looks a little like teeth. The scarab has been set in such a way as to resemble a heart shape. In Ancient Egypt, scarabs were placed over the hearts of a mummified person and became known as ‘heart scarabs’. The fact that this one has been set specifically in a heart shape is charming and gives the ring an extra significance.

This ring should be worn with care due to the delicacy of the scarab.

Size - The scarab measures approx 13mm by 12mm
