


Victorian Scottish Horseshoe Ring
A lovely and unusual ring from the mid Victorian period, c1860s. The ring is almost certainly Scottish in origin with the distinct setting of little hardstones, generally locally sourced and much associated with Scottish jewellery from this period. In this example there is Montrose lace agate, red jasper and malachite. They have been set in a horseshoe setting, long known to symbolise good luck. This style is more often seen in brooches from this period and it is lovely to find a ring. This ring is made from solid gold and tests as around 15ct.
