A striking pair of earrings from the end of the Victorian period. The earrings are wonderful torpedo drops of tortoiseshell, which have beautiful brown tones throughout with a subtle glow. These are topped by solid 9ct gold caps and shepherds hooks. They are a lovely length and make a gorgeous statement in the ear. Such an elegant shape and style.
Details:
Materials - 9ct Gold (tested), Tortoiseshell
Age - Late Victorian
Size - The earrings measure approx 71mm from the top of the hook to the bottom of the torpedo. They are around 8mm wide at the widest point.
Condition - Very good. One torpedo has a subtle split to the tortoiseshell on one side, pictured. This is noted for accuracy only and does not seem to affect the stability of the earrings.
Weight - 6.6g
