sold out

A statement watch chain necklace from the late Victorian period. It is hallmarked throughout with the lion passant on each link and has elements with two different date letters; a jump ring with a date of Birmingham 1896 and the t-bar with a date of Birmingham 1888.

The chain is a lovely fetter link with a trombone alternating with a group of three links. Hanging at the centre is the t-bar on a length of four oval links. The chain is made from sterling silver, as denoted by the lion passant and has been gilded at some point in the past. It remains a very soft, pale gold colour, which would sit with either gold or silver jewellery.

It is complete with double dog clips, which are in good working order.

Details:

Materials - Sterling Silver (marked)

Age - Late Victorian

Size - The chain measures approx 6.5mm wide. It has a wearable length of 15 3/4”. The t-bar hangs approx 1 1/4” from the centre.

Condition - Very good. The t-bar bail is a little thin, though is stable. The fastening of one dog clip is a little out of line, though it is secure and in good working order.
