              Victorian Vesta Case Locket
An absolutely stunning and rare locket from the Victorian period, c1870s. The locket is made from solid 9ct gold with a beautiful high carat wash making the gold look very luxurious. It has been designed to imitate a leather vesta case with a pretty rounded oblong shape and ‘stitches’ in the gold around the edges. At the base is the vesta match strike grate and the locket opens at this point. It opens top to bottom on a circle hinge, which is marked with the word, PATENT. Inside, there is a frame on each side that slides out to allow you to add your own photos. Such an absolute delight!
The chain and necklaces pictured are for display only.
