A stunning statement chain from the Victorian period. The chain is made from vulcanite, a hard, dense material made by heating natural rubber with a high amount of sulphur. It was used in the Victorian period to simulate Whitby jet, to make similar styles and objects in jewellery. This particular chain still holds a relatively deep black colour with only the mildest hint of brown undertone. It is a cool, chunky mariner link design and looks excellent on the neck. It is complete with a black metal, simple spring hook clasp and feels lightweight when worn.
