A stunning locket possibly from the mid 20th century, c1960s, though it could very well be older, from the Victorian era. The locket is made from solid 18ct gold and is very beautifully made. To the front is a stylised wooden door with a bell pull modelled to the left. It has a panel with the words ‘Who’s That Tapping’ picked out in deep blue enamel. The door has a little handle that can be pulled to open it. Inside is an oval space to add your own photo. This can be viewed by opening the door or through the oval glass frame at the back. In fact two photos could be added and sit back to back. There is no frame inside the door, though there is a little lip to keep everything in place.
The back frame also slides out and has its original glass. The locket is in beautiful condition overall and is a real treasure. It is not a design I have come across before and the attention to detail is truly something.
