A pretty ring from the late 20th Century, dated Sheffield 1977. The ring is made from solid 18ct gold and has full English hallmarks. It is the same width all the way around and has a runic style decoration throughout. Runes are a mystical alphabet dating back at least 2000 years to European tribes. They were used to name places or things, attract luck and fortune and provide protection. It is not clear what this band says, but the symbols do appear to be distinctly runic in look.
