A beautiful and stylish pair of earrings from the mid 20th Century, c1950s. The earrings are made from solid 18ct gold and are yellow to the back with white gold fronts. They have lovely target style drops at the bottom with an early round brilliant diamond at the centre. The diamond sits in a six claw setting that sits proud of the design. Surrounding the diamond is a target illusion design. There are no diamonds set here, though the pattern in the gold has been crafted to give the illusion of diamonds; an effect it mimics very effectively. The same is true of the bar design that creates the dormeuse fastening. A beautiful pair of sparkling earrings.
