Vintage Purple Goldstone Ring
I absolutely love this ring and all its sparkle. The ring is from the late 20th Century, dated Sheffield 1998, and made from solid 9ct gold (full hallmarks). It has a simple oval closed back setting with a purple goldstone set within. Goldstone is a type of heated glass that is taken to just the right temperature to create the sparkling flecks. It is most often seen in a brick red colour and this purple shade is more unusual. The shank has nice substantial shoulders and the goldstone sparkles magnificently; like a night sky.
