Vintage 'Touch Wood' Gnome Charm

£0.00
sold out

A cute little charm from the middle of the 20th Century, c1950/60s. This charm is a member of the ‘touch wood’ crew. These little charms originated from the saying ‘touch wood’ to avoid a particular thing happening to a person and ward off bad luck. This allows a piece of wood to be with you always. The touch wood charms first came about in WW1, but these more characterful charms, such as this gnome, came into being much later, in the middle of the 20th Century. This is a lovely example and is marked ST SIL on the back.

Details:

Materials - Sterling Silver (marked), Wood

Age - 1950s/60s

Size - The gnome measures approx 21mm high excluding the bail, by around 12mm wide.

Condition - Excellent

Weight - 5.1g
